Services and activities

Masjid-e-Ali offers a wide range of regular activities and services to cater for the diverse needs of our community.  In addition to our regular programmes we hold frequent one-off events to further support the needs of the community.

Daily Prayers

Masjid-e-Ali is open for Fajr, Zuhrain and Maghribain Jamat (congregational) prayers.

Jummah Prayers

Masjid-e-Ali is open every Friday for Jummah prayers.  Jummah prayers commence with khutbah (speech) and conclude with prayer.

Masjid-e-Ali Education Center (MAEC) is at the heart of educational activities for the community.  The primary activity is the weekly Sunday school classes held at Icknield High School.  MAEC provides Akhlaq, Fiqh, Quran and Aqaid education to children from the age of 5 to 16.  MAEC also holds educational seminars and events focussed around the academic and spiritual development of the youngsters of our community.

Weekly Dua-e-Tawassul Programme

The weekly Dua-e-Tawassul (prayer for seeking intercession) programme takes place every Tuesday evening usually just before or just after Maghribain prayers.  It is a beautiful opportunity to seek one's legitimate desires from Allah (SWT) through the intercession of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his holy Ahlulbayt (AS).  Dua is often followed by a short lecture in english.

Weekly Dua-e-Kumayl Programme

Dua-e-Kumayl (the supplication of Kumayl) is a beautiful Dua taught by Imam Ali (AS) to his confidante Kumayl bin Ziyad.  It is a beautifully intimate expression of oneself to Allah almighty referring to mans weaknesses and at the same time pleading for and being hopeful in the mercy of Allah (SWT).

The Masjid-e-Ali weekly Dua-e-Kumayl programme takes place every Thursday evening usually just before or just after Maghribain prayers and is followed by light refreshments.

Marking of significant events

In addition to the weekly programmes Masjid-e-Ali organises events (majalis/jashan) to mark all the significant historical islamic events.  Key amongst these are the shahadat/wiladat (martyrdom/birth) anniversaries of the Prophet (PBUH), and the Ahlulbayt (AS).
